On the 14th February 2018, Moray Council decided to close all halls throughout Moray at the end of June 2018. A meeting was set up for the community of Keith to discuss what that meant for the community and the future of bookings in the hall. There was a lot of interest in keeping the hall open. So on the 26th March 2018, a steering group was set up and the process of getting a Community Asset Transfer (CAT) started. It will take up to 2 years to do this and in the interim, we hope to lease the hall from Moray Council to guarantee all and future bookings. The end vision is to run the halls as a community project, keeping business in Keith
On the 29th June 2018 Longmore Community Hall (Scottish Registered Charity SC048474) signed the lease for the Longmore community Hall.
